Anger Management Counselling in New Brunswick
Do you find yourself struggling with anger that feels overwhelming? Are outbursts impacting your relationships, work or overall well-being? If so, anger management counselling might be helpful.
Anger is a natural human emotion, and when expressed healthily, it can even drive positive change. But when anger becomes overwhelming, persistent or leads to harmful decisions, it can take a toll on your life.
Some common reasons people might express anger in unhealthy ways include:
Lack of Emotional Regulation Skills: Not knowing how to calm down, express needs or set boundaries without aggression.
Unresolved Trauma or Past Experiences: Childhood or past traumas can lead to anger as a learned or default coping strategy.
Chronic Stress and Burnout: Excessive stress can lower tolerance for frustration and escalate mild irritations into explosive outbursts.
Feeling Powerless or Out of Control: Anger can serve as a quick way to feel in charge, even though it damages relationships.
Underlying Mental Health Issues: Conditions like anxiety, depression, or substance use can amplify anger and erode self-control.
By recognizing these root causes, you can start taking meaningful steps to break unhelpful patterns, foster healthier communication, and rebuild trust in your relationships. Learning to manage anger effectively can improve your relationships, enhance your career and even benefit your physical and mental health. Our anger management counselling provides a safe, supportive space to help you understand your triggers, develop healthier coping strategies, and regain control of your emotions.

How Anger Management Counselling Works
The first step in connecting with an anger management counsellor in Fredericton or Saint John is to fill out this form. Based on your requirements, we’ll match you with someone we feel is best suited to help you.
We use evidence-based techniques, including cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) and mindfulness strategies, to help you regain control over your emotions. Our compassionate therapists provide personalized guidance to support your journey toward a calmer, more balanced life.
Counselling sessions can be conducted in-person or virtually, whichever you prefer. Sessions typically run 50 minutes long. How often you attend sessions is discussed collaboratively and is based on your needs and schedule. You are always in control of your therapy, working at your own pace, and can choose the frequency and length to best suit your needs.
How much does anger management counselling cost?
Therapy sessions with a registered social worker (RSW) or licensed counselling therapist (LCT) are $150 for 50 minutes.
Is anger management counselling covered by insurance?
Our counselling fees are not covered by Medicare but are covered by many extended health insurance plans.
Our clinic has therapists who are either registered social workers (RSW) or Licensed Counselling Therapists (LCT).
You must check your specific plan for what you have coverage for, as coverage is different for each policy. Verify that your plan covers counselling/therapy with a MSW, RSW or LCT. Your insurance may state you have coverage for clinical counsellor or psychotherapist, which would cover LCT or social worker.
We also offer direct billing with many different insurance companies, which allows you to keep more money in your pocket. We can direct bill Blue Cross, Veterans Affairs (VAC), Canadian Armed Forces (CAF), Canada Life, Claim Secure, Chamber of Commerce, Work Safe, NIHB, Department of Social Development, and more provided your plan is set up for direct billing. You are still responsible for any co-pay amounts at the time of service.
