About Me

Hello! I'm Jessica and I find strength in the choices we make to manage stress. Graduating from Yorkville University as a mature student, I firmly believe it's never too late to set new goals, dream different dreams, and choose alternative actions.

With a background in modern psychological approaches, including CBT, REBT, and DBT, I bring a versatile set of tools to my counseling practice. After earning a BA from St. Thomas University, I dedicated my time to raising my children until they reached school age. Transitioning into the private sector, I assisted families with financial planning while actively volunteering in my community. I also pursued further education in health sciences through online courses.

I have experience introducing First Responders to counselling. Sessions typically start with a meeting to assess for being a good match, and experiences of stress. Sessions progress collaboratively to see if well being can be improved. 

My Approach

In tackling stress, my go-to tools are mindfulness strategies, designed to acknowledge stress and manage anxiety and depression. I have a strong affinity for Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, as it aligns with my philosophy of empowering individuals to make meaningful choices when faced with stress.
