Depression Help in New Brunswick
Depression can feel like a heavy weight—affecting your thoughts, energy, relationships and ability to enjoy life. It’s more than just feeling sad or going through a rough patch. Depression is real, and it’s treatable. With the right support, healing is possible.
What Is Depression?
Depression looks different for everyone. For some, it shows up as persistent sadness or hopelessness. For others, it might feel like numbness, fatigue or a loss of interest in things that once brought joy. Common symptoms include:
Ongoing sadness, emptiness, or hopelessness
Low energy or constant fatigue
Difficulty sleeping or sleeping too much
Trouble concentrating or making decisions
Loss of interest in activities or relationships
Feelings of guilt, worthlessness, or self-blame
Changes in appetite or weight
Thoughts of death or suicide
If any of this resonates with you, you’re not alone—and you don’t have to navigate it on your own. Therapy for depression is a solution.
How we can help
Therapy offers a safe, confidential space to explore what you’re going through and begin the journey toward feeling better. Our experienced depression therapists offer evidence-based approaches such as:
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT): Helps challenge negative thought patterns and build healthier ones
Interpersonal Therapy (IPT): Focuses on relationships and life changes that may be contributing to your depression
Supportive Talk Therapy: Provides space to be heard, understood, and validated
We work with you to uncover the root causes of your depression, build coping tools and help you reconnect with hope and purpose. We offer virtual or in-person depression therapy in Saint John and Fredericton.
How It Works
The first step in connecting with a therapist for depression in Fredericton or Saint John is to fill out this form. Based on your requirements, we’ll match you with someone we feel is best suited to help you.
Counselling sessions can be conducted in-person or virtually, whichever you prefer. Sessions typically run 50 minutes long. How often you attend sessions is discussed collaboratively and is based on your needs and schedule. You are always in control of your therapy, working at your own pace, and can choose the frequency and length to best suit your needs.
How much does depression therapy cost?
Sessions with a registered social worker (RSW) or licensed counselling therapists (LCT) are $150 for 50 minutes. For Family, Couples, EMDR or Play Therapy, sessions are $160.
Our counselling fees are not covered by Medicare but are covered by many extended health insurance plans.
Our clinic has therapists who are either registered social workers (RSW) or Licensed Counselling Therapists (LCT).
You must check your specific plan for what you have coverage for, as coverage is different for each policy. Verify that your plan covers counselling/therapy with a MSW, RSW or LCT. Your insurance may state you have coverage for clinical counsellor or psychotherapist, which would cover LCT or social worker.
We also offer direct billing with many different insurance companies, which allows you to keep more money in your pocket. We can direct bill Blue Cross, Veterans Affairs (VAC), Canadian Armed Forces (CAF), Canada Life, Claim Secure, Chamber of Commerce, Work Safe, NIHB, Department of Social Development, and more provided your plan is set up for direct billing. You are still responsible for any co-pay amounts at the time of service.
