About Me

Hello, I’m Abbie, a Licenced Counselling Therapist Candidate. I am a recent graduate from Yorkville University where I obtained my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. I have a genuine passion for helping others and am dedicated to creating a safe space where clients feel empowered to explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. I believe the clients are the experts in their own lives and aim to create strong therapeutic alliances in forming genuine connections with clients.

My Approach

Throughout my education and experience, I have gained the skills to use evidence-based approaches to help guide clients to find positive changes and experience personal growth within their lives. Being able to take an eclectic approach and working collaboratively with clients to set and reach goals is something I value within my approach to therapy. Through fostering these skills and values and honouring client autonomy, I hope to help clients at their own pace and support their well-being.

Who I see

I work with a diverse range of individuals, including adolescents and adults.

My Practice

My practice pulls from a variety of different modern psychological approaches such as cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), person-centered therapy, and dialectical behavioural therapy (DBT) to provide tools to help navigate emotions, challenges, and experiences. I believe that each client has unique needs and circumstances that are best addressed using a variety of different therapeutic modalities. My practice is focused on but not limited to anxiety, depression, stress management, personal development, coping skills, and relationship issues.
