Fear or intuition, do you know the difference?

Fear holds you back in life and robs you of daily joy. It can lead you to not fully showing up the way you’d like and fear can prevent you from realizing your dreams.

Like anxiety, fear can sometimes serve a useful purpose - it can alert you to danger. More often though, we fear things that are not really dangerous. Our human brain tends to make us exaggerate the negative, understate the positive and ignore what will happen if we don’t take action. This makes it hard to know when to listen in.

The best way to begin to know if it’s fear or intuition talking to you…

Get still and allow space in your life for your intuition to speak to you.

Get to know your emotions - they can alert us to important information. We often have an inner knowing and have developed a pattern to either listen to this emotion or choose to ignore it.

Reflect on the past, the choices you have made and the outcomes of those choices. Many of us use logic to evaluate these past decisions but more often we need to add our intuition to the process - use a combination of logic and what feels right.

Acknowledging a feeling, good or bad, can cause a lot of fear and this is where it can get messy. The good news? With time and intention, you can find the right answer for you. Never forget, you know you best.

”I can honestly say that nothing is as uncomfortable, dangerous,

and hurtful as believing that I’m standing on the outside of my life

looking in and wondering what it would be like if I had the courage

to show up and let myself be seen.” - Brene Brown, PhD.
