About Me

Hello! I’m Derica and I am committed to making my therapy sessions a comfortable and secure space where I strive to help each client with compassion, kindness, and acceptance. My passion lies in assisting people with their day-to-day struggles and supporting them in achieving their specific goals. I believe it is never too late to make positive changes.

Within my practice, I bring professional experience working with individuals varying from ages 12+, as well as working with couples. After completing my BA at St. Thomas University, I worked alongside many children and adolescents as an educational assistant in various elementary, middle, and high schools while completing my master’s in counselling through Yorkville University.

My Approach

My objective is to collaborate and have meaningful interactions with each client. I believe as a professional, I can gain just as much knowledge from my clients as they will from me. I withhold a background in modern psychological approaches, focusing mainly on CBT, and DBT but draw from other therapeutic approaches to meet my clients where they are.

Who I See

I work with a diverse range of individuals, ranging from the ages 12+.

My Practice

I specialize in working with clients facing challenges such as Stress, Anxiety, Depression, Self-esteem, Codependency, Coping Skills, Family Conflict, Relationships Issues, Suicidal Ideation, Trauma, and Grief.
