Session Fees

Sessions with a registered social worker (RSW) or licensed counselling therapists (LCT) are $150 for 50 minutes.

For Family, Couples, EMDR or Play Therapy, sessions are $160.

Sessions with Laura Gatien are $175.

Both RSWs and LCTs are exempt from HST. 

Fees are not covered by Medicare but are covered by many extended health insurance plans. 

Payment Policy

All clients must have a credit card or Visa debit card on file, even if we are billing a third party as many do not cover missed appointments or the full fee. 

We encourage clients to add a secondary card in the event their card is not supported or has insufficient funds. 

If a client does not have a credit card or visa debit, we will accept EMT, but this must be done the day before your appointment.

We can direct bill various insurance plans (Veterans Affairs, Canadian Armed Forces, Canada Life, Claim Secure, Chamber of Commerce, Work Safe, NIHB, Department of Social Development, etc.) provided your plan is set up for direct billing. Payment from the client is due at the time of your session and a receipt will be provided for your direct reimbursement. 

Clients with a history of outstanding balances for any reason will be required to prepay the day before their appointment and will lose their ability to book appointments online. 

Prepayment Process Details 

Your session fee will be charged 24 hours before your appointment. If payment is not received by 4:00pm the previous day, your appointment will be cancelled. 

We will direct bill Blue Cross if applicable and only charge the co-pay (the portion not covered by your insurance) to your card on file. We can also direct bill other select insurance companies. Please note your insurance provider on your intake form.

Insurance Reimbursement

Your insurance plan may cover all or a portion of your sessions. Many extended health insurance plans provide coverage for professional services received from a Registered Social Worker (RSW), Master of Social Work (MSW) or a Licensed Clinical Therapist (LCT). It is your responsibility to ensure your sessions are covered and the limits of your coverage.  

You will be provided with a receipt for each session once payment is received which will assist you in processing your insurance claims.

Counselling services may be claimed as a medical expense on your income tax if you do not have coverage with an insurance provider. 

Cancellation Policy

Clients may cancel or reschedule appointments at any time with at least 24 hours notice, for any reason.

Late Cancellations (less than 24 hours notice): 50% of the session fee will be charged as a time commitment was made to you and is held exclusively for you.

No-Shows (missed appointment with no notice): Full session fee will be charged, as a time commitment was made to you and is held exclusively for you.

Preventing Last-Minute Conflicts: We understand that life happens. To help reduce late cancellations, plan ahead with backup childcare or transportation, and consider switching to a virtual or phone session instead of cancelling.
